Thread: AAC Opening

  1. #1

    Default AAC Opening

I just saw that UConn has left the AAC to return to the Big East and play Independent football. Any thoughts on whether the conference brings in a new member to stay at 12? Would App St possibly get a look?

App wont get an invite. Boise, BYU, and Army probably won't take an invite and they'll stay at 11.

They've already announced months back that they're staying at 11 as there are no viable options to bring in that would elevate their conference at this time. Boise and BYU are the main ones that would allegedly be looked at, but they aren't getting invites right now.

Nah I’m pretty sure Ga State has that spot locked up. Have you seen their new (Baseball) football stadium? And did you know they have marketz?

AAC has already said they're staying at 11.

If they did add another team, they're going to want 3 things: A large market, competitive in all sports (not just football), and an institution with high athletic revenues.

In App's case, they're in a very small market, football is the only major sport that they're competitive in, and their athletic budget is only slightly higher than ours.
