Thread: Health Care Worker / First Responder Appreciation Day?

Default Health Care Worker / First Responder Appreciation Day?

Any chance we could get a social media campaign going for athletics marketing to set up a home football game for appreciation of health care workers and first responders within the alumni base and region?

(For those that don't know, there is discussion of the actual pandemic on the Open Forum here, so let's keep that discussion over there.)

Not a bad idea to get more butts in seats. Offer a ticket package with a meal combo included, or a $10-$15 voucher.

We absolutely should and invite representatives from all the hospitals, police departments, and fire departments in and around Statesboro, Savannah, and Hinesville to be acknowledged on the field at halftime.

I was telling someone yesterday that Savannah should redo the St Patrick’s Day parade when this is all over and throw it in honor of all the healthcare workers in Savannah

That would have lasting implications for sports as we know it. I doubt Georgia Southern Athletics can continue to run in its current state should we lose an entire season of our most important sport.

Maybe. We'd also have a lot of cost reductions as well- not having to charter flights, book hundreds of hotel rooms, pay for as much equipment/medicine/nutrition. Not sure what the net effect would be.

They might try but I have such a hard time seeing games with crowds happening in any sport for the rest of 2020

If that happens, there is no hope for this country.

By fall pretty much every place of business will be open but I still bet we'll see restrictions on crowds
