We just have to find the right fit for us and we'll be fine.
thats partly my point, GS doesn’t need a current D1 HC. Find a hungry young D2 winning HC, bring them in actually brag on them the opportunity they have to use GS as a stepping stone towards bigger and better things. Use the “stepping stone” angle as a selling point.

Only time will tell if this is an accurate statement on not, but IMO it's not. We could get a #2 assistant or a D-1 head coach. I agree our pool of D-1 coaches and #2 assistants are limited because of salary, but $282,000 and the Sun Belt is a step up to some guys. Hanner is old, but it's not the end of the world.
I do agree with you garns.......nothing wrong with hiring a proven D2 coach.

No, its not the end of the world but 282,000 and Hanner are not selling points imo to a proven D1 HC or a top flight #2 D1 assistant. Maybe I'm wrong but If we could find a hungry young proven D2 HC, a lot like our Coach Howard we might be onto something.

Georgia Southern conducting a thorough search.

Candidates include - high major asts Chad Dollar, Jonas Hayes, Korey McCray. D2 HC's Dip Metress, Josh Schertz, Mike Helfer. Old hats Murry Bartow & Rob Ehsan are lingering

We have another Woj Bomb. Some interesting names on this list. I like the idea of Murry Bartow.

Bartow is definitely an intriguing name. He should be somewhat familiar with us from his ETSU days. Would be the total opposite of a young up and comer.

Based on a quick google/my expert opinion, we should go with McCray.

I’m hoping no one on that current list is out next head coach

Schertz's bio looks really impressive (Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee).
McCray is the only of the 3 assistants I'd even consider, honestly.

You prefer coaches who lost almost twice as many games as they won.
