Thread: Softball opening weekend

    Default Softball opening weekend

Looks to be a good start so far.

We run-ruled a Hartford team that's not very good 10-2, beat an ETSU team picked to finish 3rd in the SoCon 9-3, and we're up over Rutgers 4-0 going to the bottom of the 4th inning. We look to be three deep at pitcher, which is really good in softball.

    Regarding football Scheduling.

Run ruled Rutgers 9-1. Both pitching and batting have been great so far. We are 3-0 and play West Point (3-1) @11:30 or so as the tournament wrap up game.

Great start for the ladies, let's get the win today, 4-0!, I like the sound of that.

We got beat by Army today. We have a very young infield and scored a lot of runs this weekend, but you can't tell much playing against weak teams.
Unless one of our new pitchers is a stud, it's going to be another long year in the Sun Belt.
This was going to be a make or break year for Dean with TK, but all of that changes now that a new AD coming aboard.

final was 7-5 we had some miscues in the field that hurt. (6 and 7 inning) answered in the 6 to tie it back up, but couldn't battle back in the 7th.

Is West Point a "great" team? No, but they are not without ability. 2019 they were 26-30, 8-10 in a lesser conference than the Sun Belt. They were 1-3 v P5 teams (run ruled Duke 10-0) while we were 0-1, and in our geographic region they split w/ Mercer (we were 0-1 against them) and Jax. St. We were 23-28, 9-17 in (tougher) conference.

"Big University" I guess this is what you consider us? By the way, they beat Rutgers in our tourney. Of the big 3 academies they are the only one to play softball.

I understand your point, but even last year's national champs lost 6 games (all to p5 schools). Stuff happens.

softball had a come back win yesterday against Mercer. Mercer has only one win on the year, but a win is a win. Team showed some fight coming back from a 3-0 deficit.
Our freshman class looks pretty strong at this point.
