Thread: Eagle Insider: From the Desk of Tom Kleinlein (Alcohol / Kickoff times / Attendance)

why do you people gaf about how our attendance is calculated? Us announcing a loser to actual attending instead of inflating the numbers doesn't make us look bad to the average college football fan. At most, it creates some forum banter, but outside of that, who actually cares on if our attendance is listed as 18k or 20k? What actual difference does it make? Zero, it makes zero difference. If we went 12-0, would anyone actually give a damn about our attendance numbers? No. They would not

I know for a fact Danny does NOT read the board, but he obviously reals to people who do lol

As far as all these questions they are addressing, they were all pretty much asked and answered during the radio show a few weeks ago when different staffers filled in for Chad. so it's not necessarily that TK reads the board, but could simply be that 'he' wanted to elaborate on some of those answers and makes sure everyone had access to them since they keep getting asked over and over and over

Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching. Sounds like our villainous AD and our program is trying to have some integrity.

Letís not turn this into something bigger than it is. I would rather have 17k and report 17k than have 2k and announce 23k.

Just because it’s not a big deal to you doesn’t mean it’s not a big deal to us. We need to take advantage of every single opportunity. Gag is gonna be the next App if we sleepwalk on stuff like attendance numbers and beer sales.

do you really think the recruits that came to the ULL game went online, looked at attendance and went "Oh man.... I thought it was 2k more than that. You know what, I'm going somewhere else". That's stupid.

Well it ain't to beat the weather this weekend, or it would be moved to a way different time.

And it ain't the fair cause that's next week.

And average temp at this time is warmer than it's going to be at 3pm this weeekend so it ain't that.

    So I'm open to suggestions.

UGA playing at 6 is the only logical explanation, but even Gast isn't afraid of that since they're kicking off at 7 and they're actually putting out announcements that they're running short on tickets, therefore elevating their demand through scarcity. As it stands, we'll never have that issue at Georgia Southern because we decided that it's going to be impossible to announce a 20k+ crowd now.

I would never want my alma mater to sacrifice integrity over something as silly as reported attendance. Those other schools are a joke and I donít want us to be a part of the punchline.

    Since 2010:

Or to put it another way:

That's an average difference of 3,693 people. So for those 20 early games X 3,693 extra tickets = 73,860 tickets sales lost.

So what you're saying is we should LIE to all of these recruits and sponsors that are interested in GS?!? Yeah, that makes a ton of sense. "Hey Mr Chick-Fil-A, we have 50,000 people come to our games, you should send us bags and bags full of money". Besides, recruits that are looking to come here WILL visit and will actually see how many people are in the seats. Same thing with sponsors. Do you honestly think that someone is going to spend good money to sponsor a stadium or a part of a stadium without visiting that stadium?

The "because they are doing it" excuse is not a good enough one to make us lie.

Recruits make visits and will be influenced by what their eyes tell them. Sponsors ain’t as stupid as you think, either.
