Unfortunately. I have to agree with this assessment.

The holes might be there. I mean, GSU ran for 350 yards against CCU. Or was it 340?
    Thanks, Rastabot!

State also has the 9th most efficient offense in the country, we're 118th last I checked.

Honestly, if we went simple zone read with some constraints thrown in (speed option for instance), the OL would have a lot less to worry about and could potentially play a bit faster. We saw it happen in 2017 after we simplified the playbook when Lunsford took over.

That said, it's not gonna happen.

So unless we figure out how to stop making mistakes, we're gonna be on edge for the entire game.

I'd also really like to see Werts and Tomlin split reps like we did with Upshaw and Ellison. I thought Tomlin played well enough to get a few snaps during Werts' absence, but even against SA when there was every reason in the world to take Werts out, Tomlin still didn't see any game time.

If Werts is healthy, he's gonna be the guy. I don't agree with that, and believe we should use Tomlin some, especially after we've seen what he can do. Sometimes coaches have a bit more of a bias toward upperclassmen or the presumed starter that they'll work out whatever funk they may be in instead of trying something for a jump start/change of pace.

If we're gonna be grinding out every game, we won't have the luxury of putting him in because we pulled all the starters. We need Tomlin to develop and improve, because we don't need a QB that plays like a true freshman when Werts is injured.

I don't think we should do a "every 3rd series of the half" type thing, but definitely mix him in.

The extra 5k comes from the grass.

That's why that huge App 2018 crowd where Paulson was rocking was only 19k, and ULL was 19k with a pretty packed out stadium.
“This expansion project increased Paulson Stadium's total capacity to 25,000 and moved all of Georgia Southern's football facilities to a state-of-the-art Football Operations Center onsite.”

GSU Spread Option FOOTBALL - out weighed, but never outplayed
The T-Option is the powerful ground game ever devised & the FLEX is the best way to run it.
If I want your opinion & don't like it I'll tell you what it should be.
