Is there any offensive stat that doesn't put us near the bottom of the list?

Number of times coach says "golly"?

Since we moved to FBS we've had the following ranks in total offense:

    #16 in 2014
    #46 in 2015
    #91 in 2016
    #113 in 2017
    #112 in 2018
    #130 in 2019 (thru 3 games)
    Yards Per Play:

    #3 in 2014 (7.34)
    #24 in 2015 (6.41)
    #101 in 2016 (5.24)
    #122 in 2017 (4.75)
    #53 in 2018 (5.91)
    #106 in 2019 (4.93) ** vs 2 P5 teams with the freshman backup QB

    Removing Clemson and LSU:
    #34 in 2018 (6.14 ypp)
    #45 in 2019 (6.37 ypp)

Why are we removing stats from games on our schedule? We are not the only team to play a game or two against solid competition. Weíre also not the only team to play a backup QB, or rFR QB.

On the flip side, we do have a couple of CBís and a K that a lot of those other 129 FBS programs would love to have... just saying that every team has their strengths & weaknesses and being last (or near last) in anything offensively is not promising. We need to make several improvements, but Iím hopeful.

Because games against college football's 5 or 6 playoff contenders are outliers. When you have a dataset of 3 games, that outlier weighs heavily.

    vs LSU: 1.96 ypp
    vs Maine: 7.51 ypp
    vs Minn: 4.71 ypp

In 2018 we had 6 games over 7 yards per play. Clemson was 2.69.

Yeah, I kind of get it for 2019, for now, due to the sample size, but not so much for a full 2018 season. I mean, pulling out stats against Clemson and measuring ourselves against everyone else, including 10 or so other programs that played Clemson (or Alabama, Oklahoma, etc.) hardly seems like a fair comparison.
