My guess is a bigger recruiting budget. Being able to fly across the country.

    But why?

Georgia is a pretty great place for golf talent.

I was seriously wondering if this is a need. I know some prodigies move to Florida/USA as kids to develop.

Coaching. I say that not knowing anything at all about our current coach(es). I am sure our coaching is great and the 4 people who know them will point out how great they are, I am just answering the question.

I have no idea how Coach Collins' salary compares with the rest of DI, but I will say the guy was hired nearly right out of college where he was a standout at GCSU and that he is by far the longest-tenured head coach in athletics other than Rodney Hennon.

Usually when you have a guy that hangs on that long here it means they're good enough to keep their job but not good enough to move on. But like I said, I have no idea how competitive our salary is.

Carter has been on the staff for a while, but he's only been the head coach for five seasons. He's got a conference title, two runners-up, this year's stroke play title and four trips to regionals.

We are not paying at the top overall for our Golf staff but they arenít hurting. Not above average but on par with most.

Our facilities are right up there with ďmostĒ any program in the south.

Recruiting wise, no additional funds are needed. Just recruiting this state and the ones that border, talent will never be a problem.

Is there enough HS talent that major schools like Tech, FL, Stanford, etc are coming here to get recruits? I have no idea.
