LSU was in a 24-21 game with La Tech in the 4th quarter last year. They also were less than impressive against a terrible SELA team. As usual, people hold these teams up like they are the New England Patriots. They aren't THAT much better than us. If we go in there and play our game, we will compete. We will probably need some breaks and things to go our way to get a win, but we won't get blown out unless we stink up the place.

    Neither game will be close.
Iím just not on board with this bc I donít see Minnesota as a legit Power 5 team. LSU of course, realistically I can see that game being similar to our game with Clemson last year. But having lived up here for a bit I can tell you if itís not hockey related nobody cares. There is absolutely zero passion for the Minnesota football team and I honestly expect the stadium to be fairly quiet when we play them so not worried about a huge home field advantage at all. Do I think we will win? Iíd say we have a puncherís chance but I certainly donít see us getting blown out.

What was Indiana’s record in 2017?

I know we were an awful team, but they looked significantly bigger and faster than we did.

    ****, who didn't?

They were 5-7 and the only team with a winning record they beat was Charleston Southern who kept it closer than GS did. 27-0

I’m not sure anyone (except Auburn) physically manhandled us like they did, though.

We had a 7-4 FCS team make us look bad in 2017. We had a young team, a head coach in way over his head, and *Doctor* Dorsey running our S&C program.

Here's a list of games that I was referring to:

1999 Oregon State (7-5) (lost by 7 after Greg Hill is hurt late)
2009 UNC (lost by 30) *losing season*
    2013 Florida (won by 6)
2014 NC State (lost at the last minute)
2014 Georgia Tech (lost at the last minute)
    2015 WVU (didn't compete)
2016 Ole Miss (lost by 10) *losing season*
2016 Georgia Tech (lost by 11) *losing season*
2017 Indiana (lost by a lot) *losing season*

Note that I left out 2015 UGA because they were a 10-win SEC and not the kind of team I'm referring to.

History shows Minnesota is the type of team we should be able to compete with if we're not having a major down year.

I’m not saying that they were good. I’m saying that most of y’all seem to think that Minnesota is garbage when our tiny bit of experience with average teams from that conference shows that they may be significantly bigger and faster than we are.

I expect us to compete, but they’ll probably be as good or better than the 2014 NCSU team we took to the wire.

We will be underdogs and should be underdogs.
    Thanks, Rastabot!

Losses: LSU, Minn, App State, Troy

Toss Ups: Arkansas State, Louisiana, ULM

Wins: South Alabama, Coastal, State, Maine, NMSU.

If we win all of our toss-ups, 8-4. If we lose them all then 5-7. This is assuming we donít have a lapse like we did against ULM last year. Our road schedule is just insanely difficult this season for me to think we can match last seasons results.

Minnesota is young, huge and quick, we have our hands full!
