The idea is to build up to pitching 100 pitch games by the time region/conference play starts. We donít know what the coaching staff was working with on that front. I have a game on Tuesday and will pull him if he has a perfect game going but has thrown over 60 pitches. Iím sure I would be labeled an idiot too. Not to mention the moment he tells me his arm is bothering him in a non region game, I will take him out without hesitation. Not worth the risk. There is a lot more that goes into it.
Are you gong to bunt with 2 outs, too? Just curious.

WV took their starter out after 6.3. Ton of scouts there last night watching this kid. The one two out bunt was our little CF bunting with a man on first for a base hit. Problem was he didn't get it down in the proper spot.(wasn't a good bunt). The kid attempted that on his own. I do remain concerned about our bats. Did you notice the "bad blood" between their pitcher and Swain?. Pitcher K's Swain in 5 th I think, he must of said something to Swain walking off mound, Swain said something back as he was walking towards the guy. Umps had to step in. WV has a couple of "hot dogs" on their team. Let's hope we kick their butts today.

I agree with all that has been said and we do this every start to the season. Hennon has a certain number of pitches in his head and when or starters hit it then that's it, I have no issue with it this early in the season. Our pitching is and will be fine, it's the offense i am extremely worried about. Again, we have lots of young kids and Hennon is moving them around in the lineup to figure out where they feel comfortable etc. Balls are not jumping off the bats yet but hoping that changes. Need curry and mcwhorter to step up as the leaders offensively. Hoping for a sweep today to get us back to .500 bc at charleston and #9 uga coming into town is no joke.

That's right on the button. The problem we have this and every year lately is that we have no hitters in the lineup that really put any pressure on opposing pitchers. We do lots of things fundamentally sound, but it just seems we bring in to many guys that are at best gonna hit in the 250 range. That was the general thoughts of a group I was sitting with last night. It's early and anything could happen, but we can't pitch and play defense well enough to be a big winner if we don't hit the ball better. It appear to be a carbon copy of last years team which wasn't terrible, but not good enough win our league or get in the tournament.

for those of you that have a better knowledge of the players than I do, who do we have that has to ability to put pressure on opposing pitching? Until we have 3 or 4 guys like that we will never be much over a 500 club.

Which part don’t you like? Him calling our catcher an umpire or just lack of baseball knowledge in general? It is tough.
