Thanks. Foley was another one I have heard of that was money. That actually may have been who I was thinking of, not Cool. Didn't Mora break a GS record for XP's consecutive not missed?
No longer eating crow for saying "The TO is gone get over it!!"

NCAA record for Mora. And his FG% was insane.

Both Foley and Cool kicked 60+ yarders.

Foley was a lot like Bass or Koo for his time, but with more sustained success and a bigger personality. He was a dominant weapon, a true legend of Georgia Southern football.
    Thanks, Rastabot!

As a young kid, I remember seeing Foley make that long one. After that, I thought he could literally make it from anywhere on the field. I would be asking my dad why we couldn't try a 75 yarder.

I think it was 63, and would have been the record, except another kicker matched it the same day.

IIRC, Cool also kicked a 60-yarder at some point.

When we had him kicking long and Dowis kicking short, we were incredible.

Here's another thought: what is your vote for most clutch kick in our history?

My first thought is Jesse Hartley's 54 yard kick at the buzzer to beat SDSU in '07.

More clutch than Bass’ Bowl winner?

Probably not since we were behind in the bowl game, and a miss would've meant the L. I guess my head was more in the past.

Also, there wasn’t anything to really consider clutch from 2006-2009, as well as 2016-2017.
Too many Urkels on your team that's why your wins low

Not at all. Only in '07, we had a Payton Award winner and it was the last time we have ever won in Boone.
