Also unfortunately, in the eyes of every observer that matters relative to us getting any subjective or objective ‘juice’ out of beating them, they may be No. 19 . . . but it’s No. 19 with a big, bold implied asterisk that refers to an implied note below that says “FCS-doesn’t count”. It’s just the way it is.
Yes I'm saying that NDSU is better than most G5 teams & if "The Real GSU" plays an FCS team it should be the BEST FCS team that has a higher ranking than most G5 teams.

You’re saying that given the choice you’d rather play a team that can’t help us but can definitely hurt us instead of a team that can neither help nor hurt us.

I'm saying we win and it helps us more than a low level G5 and if we should somehow lose against an FCS team that is higher ranked team than the majority of G5 teams it wont hurt us much. GSU needs to beat NDSU weather it a home and home or just one game at GSU. Do not let fear take hold of you like it does KJ & Sanders.

It helps us do what, exately? It’s still just an FCS win, no different then beating SC State, except for the fact that SCS will bring a few more fans.

Fear? Fear is GS moving up to the FBS level but still just wanting to flex our muscles against the FCS elite. For countless reasons, we should be looking to play the top of the G5, NOT the top of the FCS. Their is plenty of competition in the FBS so join the rest of us there and “do not let fear take hold of you.”

Eagleman -It’s still just an FCS win, no different then beating SC State.
TALON-You would choose the 130th ranked FBS G5 team over NDSU? Sounds like Pikes kind of math!

Eman.-For countless reasons, we should be looking to play the top of the G5,

TALON - OK then GSU should schedule the top OOC team in the G5 not any FCS teams during the regular season.

If you’re going to reiterate my statements then at least use the entire comment... “For countless reasons, we should be looking to play the top of the G5, NOT the top of the FCS.” That one sentence addresses both of your comments/question above. I made no mention of NOT scheduling any FCS program.

And yet if you look at both of the NDSU threads many posters want a weak FCS team just for a win, but you're not saying a thing to them. If we play an FCS team then it should be the best.

No, we should not play the best FCS programs, that is an unnecessary risk, scheduling a weaker FCS program is the wise move. However, it’s not JUST for the win, but for experimenting on the play book, getting new talent on the field, getting coaching staffs aligned, etc. That is the closest thing college has to a live preseason scrimmage.
