Thread: GoDaddy.com vs Camellia Bowl

    While it was probably a benefit from a scheduling standpoint for our traveling fans, I don’t love the earliest bowls from a TV exposure standpoint. I feel like we have this big break and the casual viewer plans on watching a lot of football ‘whenever the bowls get started’, and the first few kind of sneak up on you before you realize that bowl season has is in full swing and you’re turning on the TV expecting to watch whatever bowl is on. Could be just me.

    So... let's say that Turner Field gets a bowl game. Would you rather go there or Montgomery. I'll hang up and listen.

    I know most of OUR answer, but would Troy, or South Alabama, or Arkansas State, or Coastal Carolina rather go to Montgomery or Atlanta? An Atlanta bowl COULD free up a more desirable location for us.

    Published figures (which may or may not represent reality)

    Camellia = 17710. Dollar General = 31818. Cure = 19066. New Orleans = 23942.

    Watching the DG on tv sure didn't look like that many people to me.

    Any idea how many tickets each SB team/school sold?

    Ladd-Peebles holds 33,000. There’s no way they had just shy of 32,000 there. Someone’s fudging some numbers.

    It's seats sold. There was an investigative report on Briant Gumble's HBO show about the money behind the scenes of Bowls and how it's just a cash windfall for the organizers. Most schools lose money which is why it's costs and benefits are spread over the conference.

    From a fan's perspective, I'm glad to see the team in action against a rare opponent before the 255 day drought until kickoff next season.
