Thread: Server migration

  1. #1

    Default Server migration

The current host is continuing to have hardware problems with the server, so they are doing an emergency migration tonight:

Transfer is expected to start today (Friday) at 11pm EST, with hopes to be done by 6pm Saturday.

If you have issues with DNS routing, use this link to access the messageboard directly:

I am aware of the error that the content.php page is giving, and will look later this afternoon to see what is going on with that. The content page is what is directly loading from the homepage (www.gsufans.com), so if you have that bookmarked it may be showing either a 504 or 404 error, or in some cases a database error.

Thanks for your patience while we sort through this.

Please be sure to "Friend" us on Facebook and add us to your Twitter feed.

In the event we're down during the server migration, we'll try to keep you updated through those two outlets.

Additionally, the site may be a little bit slower after 8pm tonight as I am going to backup the database before the server migration occurs.

    Backup is underway.

We've gotten notification from our hosting service that the IP might change, so that link I sent out earlier today might end up giving a file not found error after the switch. We're keeping our nameservers the same, so after they switch it may take a while for the DNS servers to repopulate .... just keep up w/ us on Twitter in the event you can't access the site.

this may be the wrong place to post this and it's not that big of a deal, but every time if come to the site I have to log in. I never had to do this before and I was just wondering if anyone else is having this trouble and if the migration had anything to do with it. just wonderin'.

That doesn't happen to me. Have you installed any new scanning software (antivirus, spyware, malware...)that deletes cookies? Does your browser delete cookies on exit?

I've noticed if I go to www.gsufans.com and click "enter site", it takes me to http://199.187.125.54/tsc/forum.php where i have to log in. Every time. But if i goto www.gsufans.com/tsc/forum.php I am logged in already.

Not sure why. It turns out they were able to keep our IP the same, so we'll get the domain name back in the links. You can keep the numerical reference on file though if we have the domain server issue crop up again.

When I log in & click remember me, instead of the thank you for logging in / click here if not redirected message, it puts up "Invalid Redirect URL (http://199.187.125.54/tsc/forum.php)" However, I am logged in if I click the forum links.

But, if I go back to www.gsufans.com and click the link again, i have to log in again.

That was in Safari, tried in Firefox with same results.

That glitch shouldn't happen now. It turns out they did switch the IP.

    The new one is 96.47.229.10

The IP or DNS name did not work this morning when I got to work around 7 a.m. Was it just me?

No. It was off line for about an hour. I've got a ticket placed with the host to find out what the deal was.
