    Re: Positives...

Again, no one is saying it will make zero profits. We are simply refuting your insuation that we are missing out on "millions" per year (which you then quickly changed to "a couple hundred...

    Re: Option Offense

Yes, that is what I heard as well. Add in not getting out of the 1st round, losing a lot of the big games, some off the field issues and an overall lack of discipline and he was gone.

    Re: Positives...

I saw our fans in Montgomery too. I also saw two of them go straight from the game to the hospital because they drank too much and fell and busted their faces on the metal bleachers.

    Re: Positives...

Wait, which is it? Are our conference mates are making "millions" per year or aren't they? If they don't "have our fans" and yet are still making "millions" per year that would mean we should be...

Yes. It surely didn't help, but it wasn't the only reason.

    Re: Positives...

restating your opinion when asked for data to prove it doesn't really answer the question.

I'll agree with you that millions are being spent on it "across FBS", but I don't believe that the facts...

    Re: Option Offense

I was using '06-'13 as the flipping back and forth years and not necessarily saying every year was disappointing. However, having looked back at it I will say this. Although the end result was...

    Re: Option Offense

where did i say it was irrelevant?

The problem with those candidates is that we are falling into the same cycle that we had from '06 to '13 which everyone would agree did not meet our high...

    Re: Option Offense

You can call it downplaying, but I call it reality. it speaks directly to those that think the flex is the savior of our program and fixes all.

I'm not the one that brought up the discussion....

    Re: Option Offense

I never said that our records weren't superlative and unmatched, or that it wasn't historically great. I love the flex and how we ran it when we were executing it with precision. But, you can't...

    Re: Option Offense

I didn't say people said or claimed we were 15-0, I said that there are some that "act as if". There is a big difference.

Having said that, I could care less about the "be like everyone else"...

I'd be great with that! And you wouldn't know it by reading this board, but we still have the potential to do it this year.

    Re: Option Offense

I'm not talking about in a super analyzed, advanced metrics kind of way. I'm talking about the revisionist history of some that the flex was omni-powerful and was never stopped by anyone, ever. ...

    Re: Sunbelt Improved

Agree 100%. The biggest thing that they have had that we have not is consistency. It's not hard to have no bad coaching hires when you have only hired two coaches in 30 years. They basically had...

    Re: Option Offense

I agree with all of these. However, I wonder whether all things would actually be equal. I feel the resume of a true option HC would be less than the resume of many of the other HC candidates that...

    Re: Option Offense

going back and forth and back and forth because a large population of our fans don't think we can win without it is what was stupid. The decision to move away from it would have been fine if it was...

    Re: DeBeese and Werts

A lot on here were calling for 7-5 or worse at the beginning of the season due to our schedule and which games we had that were away. I was one of them. Not that I LIKE it, but you have to be...

    Re: DeBeese and Werts

At least you're consistent. Kinda like EskimoSkins.

Show me where I said Debesse is perfect or doing everything 100% right? But it's hard to do anything right when we can't block. He could be...
