Re: Called shot thread V 2.0 - LSU

Any of our RBs got pro potential?
  2. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

I like Wright a whole lot, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s #1. He’s a great big guy who knows how to run the football. Is he fast? Fast enough, says I.

To me, maybe the most interesting part...

Re: Called shot thread V 2.0 - LSU

So . . . any ideas for how I can derail this thread?
  4. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

IIRC, Auburn went to the I later in Bo’s career (after James was gone).
  5. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

    Oh, here’s a thought:

Didn’t Bo Jackson and Lionel James (5’6” 171lbs) start beside each other at halfback in the wishbone at Auburn?
  6. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

Ideally, we WOULD have mirror images flanking each other: two Jericks, two Breidas, two Wesley Fields, etc.

Then, you could do anything you wanted without showing any “tendencies” based on...
  7. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

    Durn.
  8. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

“Cruiser” exclusively refers to the TE. We will put him back there in the stacked I look.

The rest is just what one would call “tendency.” If we ask one of the two RBs in a 21 formation to lead...
  9. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

There is no difference. Ideally, both backs would be equally good running inside and outside.

RB1 and RB2 is just a handy way of saying that we play a lot of two-back sets. Think of the halfbacks...
  10. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

Mike Hamilton. He played off and on during 2007, but I think he was damaged goods when he got here. IIRC, he’d been the Big 12 Freshman of the Year in 2005.
  11. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

    Are you counting Gerald Green?

Re: Called shot thread V 2.0 - LSU

He didn’t even mention the part where he bounced on a pogo stick all the way back to Georgia.
  13. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

Was he all the rage, though? I think Frazier was the #4 QB out of camp last season in both 2017 and 2018, and he would have been #5 in 2018 had Kado Brown been healthy. He was taking snaps at TE and...

Re: SMN Update on JD King

Yeah, he’s a welcome addition. Most of our other backs are “specialists,” while King brings several different things to the table. He actually looked great playing some wing at Fitzgerald, though I...

Re: SMN Update on JD King

He may well be better, but we don’t know that yet. I was mainly referring to the two backs having somewhat similar skill sets. Ramsby didn’t have the vertical explosiveness that would have made him...

Re: SMN Update on JD King

Yep. As long as the OL does its job, of course.

    We’ll see.
  18. Poll: Re: Guess the two-deep at offense, leading rusher for 2019

    QB: Werts, Tomlin

    RB1: King, Wright
    RB2: Kennedy, Laroche

    Slot: Thompson, Hood, Kennedy

    TE: McKenzie, Brown

    WR: Ransom, Michaud

Re: SMN Update on JD King

We could be slower by taking 150 carries from Kennedy/LaRoche and giving them to King.

But that’s academic. King is good, and we’re better with him in the rotation.

Re: SMN Update on JD King

What does Fields have to do with it? He’s not on the team, nor is he part of the rotation.

King is plenty fast. I don’t know that we’ll be faster at RB with him eligible, but we’ll definitely be...

Re: SMN Update on JD King

Having him here at the beginning of spring semester 2019 was a very good thing in that regard.
