Maybe. He’s still a douche, though. Even when he wins.

Does he still have that tight little bum, at least?

Re: Sun Belt Week 4 Thread

Beating a P5 (even though Kansas) and proceeding to score 108 points in the next two games is pretty solid. CCU worries me. Freakin’ Jamey Chadwell.

Re: Sun Belt Week 4 Thread

I’m not talking about P5 wins. I’m talking about choking.

GS has been a typical state of Georgia team since 2000. Choke, choke, choke.

    Re: PJ Consulting??

Neither Stowers nor Hatcher was a **** coach. In Hatcher’s case, we should have been able to hire a better fit, but both are/were solid HCs.

BVG and TS, on the other hand . . .

    Dysfunction...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

Yes. But from a coaching standpoint, this is the only thing that has really worried me about DeBesse’s offense. I like the scheme pretty well when we execute and have speed.

    But is every other...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

I would buy this except for we’re not as awful after the first possession. Other offenses—no matter how poorly they execute—don’t have these abysmal results on the first possession.

    That tells me...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

Yes, most option offenses—including ours—are series-based. It’s got nothing to do with your last sentence, though. A “series” is a group of plays that look similar but develop differently. There’s...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

Why wasn’t the first possession ever a problem under our previous option coaches?

I’m not saying that I know what’s wrong or that I have any answers, but some self-assessment is clearly in order....

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

I know we’re not running the same plays every time, but we’re clearly scripting things. Otherwise, it would be impossible to be as unproductive as we are on those possessions.

    It was vital for PJ,...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

All right, by my quick count, our 16 first drives under DeBesse have yielded a total of two FGs. Period.

That’s six points in sixteen possessions.

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

I’m responding to myself. Here is what happened on our first possession over the past seven games:

    Troy 3 and out
CCU 12 plays, 31 yards, two first downs, FG. GOT THE FIRST FIRST DOWN BY GOING...

Poll: Re: Predict our 2019 Conference Record

We’ve got to consider changing how we use our first possession. If we’re only going to get the ball 6-8 times in the entire game, we don’t have the luxury of scripting our first possession to see how...

So, Monken and Fritz's accomplishments/legacies at GS are about equal?

I'd disagree, based in large part on Monken's contributions to our program as an assistant.

Not true. Monken has two national championship rings and five Socon rings from his first stint at GS.

That matters . . . to me, at least.

How did you miss that? Fritz gave Ruse the ol’ heave-ho in favor of Will Hall between the regular season and the bowl game.

Ruse is now at D-II Arkansas Tech.
